Job overview
We are inviting you to join our team as a band 6 community rehabilitation Physiotherapist here in Trafford Local Care Organisation. . You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and patient support worker colleagues. You will be responsible for a varied caseload delivering evidenced based rehabilitation programmes within patient’s homes and outpatient facilities.
The community rehabilitation service is supported by the AHP leadership model within Trafford. You will work closely across the organisation attending band 6 peer groups where we support shared learning. You will be supervised by band 7 senior practitioners and will have the opportunity to supervise rotational band 5 staff, support workers, students.
You will be provided with a smart phone, iPad and laptop as all our patient records are electronic. We will ensure you can manage all your IT system needs, so you can remain in touch with others throughout your working day and work more flexibly. There will be some opportunity to work remotely and we have a strong emphasis on work/life balance. We ensure that all staff feel well supported and regularly meet as a team at base. There are five other band 6 Physiotherapists within the team, so plenty of peer support. You must have access to a car and a UK driving license and be prepared to travel across the borough.
Main duties of the job
You would need to have specialist assessment and treatment skills, be able to manage a complex caseload autonomously and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team completing joint assessments, treatment and goal setting as required. You need to have experience in all aspects of rehabilitation with adults, including MSK, respiratory, neurology and orthopaedics.
You will undertake specialist physiotherapy assessment of patients and provide treatments specific to the patients needs and goals.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team, completing liaison, joint working and collaborative decision making.
You will demonstrate a high level of manual handling skills.
You will assess and manage clinical risk and safeguarding, following trust policies and procedures
You will work in support of and deputise for the Senior Practitioner in the day to day running of the team.
You will contribute to service development
You will be encouraged to develop within your role though the appraisal process with funding available for accredited training.
You will supervise, monitor and delegate to staff including band 5 Physiotherapists, students and support staff. You will continue to support, train and educate others both through informal and formal in-service training sessions.
You will maintain own continuing professional development and develop current knowledge of evidenced based practice, and attend monthly Physiotherapy meetings and In-service training.
