Job overview

The Dermatology Receptionist/Administration Officer will be responsible for providing clinic administration and reception support to patients attending clinic; this will include receiving and greeting patients into clinic areas whilst recording the patient’s attendance and clinical outcome on the Patient Administration System (PAS). 

You will also be responsible for providing an appointment booking service to enable patients to book future appointments when leaving the department, this role may develop into the booking of future appointments into other clinical disciplines (i.e. diagnostic). This may also involve some telephone booking of appointments and the scheduling of forthcoming appointments, from other sources of patient enquires, whilst providing a confidential, efficient patient-friendly and out side agency contact service. 

Main duties of the job

  • You will be interactive with the General Public, Nursing, Medical staff and other Trust Administrative and Clerical Staff.
  • You will ensure all reception processes are carried out in a timely and accurate manner to ensure an efficient Reception and quality service to all users.
  • Integral to the role with be the maintaining of the clinic administration functions on PAS ensuring that they are ‘cashed up’ in a timely and accurate manner at the end of each clinic session. Scanning of patient records to the EPR system.
  • Dealing and responding to telephone queries and messages.
