The Greater Manchester Resilience Hub is a unique, all age, psychology led, trauma informed, partnership focused portfolio of services, established after the Manchester Arena Attack in 2017. The Critical Incident and Trauma Service (CITS) offers specialist trauma advice, 
consultation, assessments and interventions following major incidents and to GM health and care staff experiencing incidents, trauma and vicarious trauma at work. The offer is hosted by Pennine Care NHS FT is for systems, teams and individuals.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

As a senior therapeutic clinician within the CITS service you will:
• Ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist trauma service.
• To work with people of all ages, including professionals, in GM impacted by major incidents and other traumatic events.
• Offer specialist trauma informed consultation, assessment and NICE 
approved therapeutic interventions for individuals and teams. 
• Support service users to access appropriate treatment, including making referrals on their behalf to mental health services across the UK;
• Lead on range of interventions including 1:1; family interventions and group interventions.
• Provide specialist advice and consultation to other professionals involved in supporting people affected by incidents.
• Play an active role in supporting the development of the CITS service and the wider portfolio of the GM Resilience Hub in becoming a GM centre of excellence in the care of those experiencing psychological difficulties as a result of involvement in a major incident or other trauma;

• Support the Clinical Team Leader to ensure there are safe and effective care pathways in place for those impacted by incidents. 
• Develop an understanding of universal and workplace psychological support offers for health, social care and other professionals involved in incidents.
• Promote and maintain partnerships and effective interfaces with other 
professionals and agencies that work alongside mental health services in 
supporting those affected by incidents and trauma.
• Proactively involve stakeholders, respond to and support the resolution 
of conflict between different stakeholders when this arises through 
facilitation and or other appropriate mechanisms.
• Undertake clinical reviews of screening information and other referrals 
received in the CITS service.
• Provide assessment and formulation of complex/high risk service users open to the CITS service.
• Take a lead on formulation and care planning for services users open to the CITS service. 
• Provide specialist advice, guidance or consultation to team members and other professionals contributing directly to clients’ formulation and treatment plans.
• Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individuals and provide advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management of trauma symptoms.
• Utilise sound clinical knowledge and awareness of national guidance in 
relation to trauma focussed interventions to deliver evidence based therapy to CITS service users.
• Lead on consultation, formulation and interventions for systems, managers and teams impacted by trauma in the workplace.
• Plan, lead on and deliver group interventions for CTS service users, with 
a focus on psycho-social interventions for trauma.
• Deliver support to teams affected by incidents in the workplace. 
• Support the Clinical Team Leader in the planning and delivery of training events for other professionals working with those affected by major incidents.
• To offer and contribute to specialist advice, support, education and training to all members of this team and wider services as required.
• Be the senior clinician on home visits to families impacted by major 
incidents, as required.
• Support the Clinical Team Leader in the development and maintenance of effective systems to monitor individuals for whom treatment is expedited with local providers.
• Maintain knowledge of the evidence base and improve and positively develop clinical practice in relation to psychological support for those impacted by incidents.
• Support the identification and sharing of best practice in relation to 
psycho- social support following major incidents across GM, nationally and internationally as appropriate
• Contribute to major incident responses.

Education / Qualification / Experince

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Relevant core qualification (e.g RMN, OT or social work) with additional therapeutic qualification OR other relevant qualification e.g. IAPT recognised qualification.
  • Training in one or more additional specialised areas of practice e.g. trauma focused-CBT or EMDR
  • Extensive experience of providing therapy, therapeutic and group interventions in community settings which meet the core competencies of the post.

  • Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups, across the whole life span and presenting with the full range of severity.
