Director of Finance
Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an exceptional Director of Finance to join the multi award winning Finance & Procurement team.
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer for Stockport NHS FT & Tameside & Glossop ICFT, this is a high profile strategic role within the organisation.
The role will be responsible for the strategic and operational finance and procurement on a day to do basis and will work in close partnership with the Director of Finance for Stockport NHS FT.
The Trust is is currently on the journey to ensure financial sustainability, productivity and long-term strategic development.
This role offers a rare opportunity to join an organisation with strong momentum, ambitious leadership and highly engaged teams.
Ideally suited to an ambitious NHS finance leader seeking senior executive exposure including at sub board level, complex operational challenges and a strong platform towards future CFO roles.

As Director of Finance at Tameside & Glossop ICFT, you will:

Provide strategic financial leadership as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Lead the development and delivery of robust financial recovery and sustainability plans.

Support the organisation's transformation agenda, including financial sustainability over the medium term.

Work closely with operational and clinical leaders to strengthen financial accountability and operational decision-making.

Provide high-quality financial analysis, forecasting and strategic insight to support organisational performance and long-term planning.

Drive financial improvement, productivity and efficiency initiatives across the Trust.

Support the development of business cases,

Lead and develop the embedded finance function, creating a high-performing, collaborative and operationally engaged finance team.

Act as a visible and credible senior leader across the organisation, contributing beyond traditional finance responsibilities.

Experience

- Extensive senior level leadership and managerial experience within a finance function in an acute NHS Trust (or comparatively large and complex multi-disciplinary organisation). Statutory and non- statutory organisations, senior managers, colleagues and their representatives.
- A successful track record in a senior finance role delivering challenging financial plans within a complex environment or sector, preferably within an acute NHS Trust.
- Experience of developing and operating the systems, processes and procedures which are appropriate to ensure the smooth operation of a finance function of an acute NHS Trust.
- A successful track record of consistent delivery against NHS financial expectations and sustainable bottom- line delivery through sound financial and operational management.
- Experience of developing and implementing financial strategy and business planning, supported by appropriate financial modelling and scenario planning.
- Experience of developing and implementing transformation programmes, including the management of service change, organisational development and cost improvement / reduction.
