An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Orthopaedic Nursing support team as a trauma coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse wishing to progress further and enhance their skills by joining the Trauma team. 
You will co-ordinate the care of all emergency patient’s admissions in accordance with local guidelines and pathways ensuring the effect use of orthopaedic beds, and the optimisation of patients and utilisation of theatre lists to provide a comprehensive, high quality Orthopaedic Trauma Team Service. Ensure all patients follow the correct orthopaedic trauma pathways and liaise with the wider MDT to maintain quality communication between theatres, the emergency department, fracture clinic and other external agencies.
Essential to this role are leadership skills, excellent communication skills as well as developed organisational and interpersonal skills

Main duties of the job

The role of the Trauma Nurse Coordinator is to work with the multi professional team
contributing to the ongoing assessment, providing and monitoring care in line with the
service pathways and as agreed with supervising clinician(s). This is a multifaceted role
with responsibility for clinical practice, coordination and the facilitation of safe care of
trauma patients during their acute trauma phase, liaising as required across the Trust
with active Participation in the National Hip Fracture Database best practice audits
