Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, self-motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic Team Secretary to join the community CAMHS division to help support the roll out of the new GM ND Transformation Agenda within Bolton & Wigan CAMHS. 

You will provide secretarial support to the  clinical team within the neurodevelopmental pathways providing a full, comprehensive and confidential secretarial service to ensure the young people accessing our services receive care in the most efficient and appropriate way as possible. 

 

 

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this administrative role is to provide comprehensive support to the Neurodevelopmental (ND) Triage and Assessment Practitioner in the effective management of ND service pathways. The post holder will play a key role in coordinating and maintaining accurate oversight of ND waiting lists across the service, ensuring timely review, prioritisation, and progression of cases. This includes processing and managing incoming referrals for ND assessments within Bolton and Wigan CAMHS, ensuring all referrals are recorded, triaged, and allocated appropriately in line with service protocols. The role requires strong organisational and communication skills to liaise with clinicians, families, and external agencies, supporting efficient patient flow and contributing to improved accessibility, responsiveness, and quality of care within the ND pathway.

Person specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Administration NVQ Level 2 or relevant administration xperience
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL or equivalent IT qualification or experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with a range of people over the phone and face to face
  • Experience of summarising and note taking in order to capture the main points of a discussion/informal meeting
  • Experience of carrying out administrative duties to complete a piece of work in a methodical, efficient and timely manner to meet a set deadline
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in the NHS particularly in a Mental Health setting
  • Experience of using an EPR system
  • Experience of supporting administratively of managing waiting lists

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • An awareness of policies & procedures in relation to confidentiality, information sharing, and child protection

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to type using word processing and Microsoft Office Software Package e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
