Mental Health Practitioner - Bolton Neighbourhood Mental Health Team

Band 6

Job overview

The postholder will undertake a key worker role, alongside an assessment and formulation role within the team. The Neighbourhood Mental Health Team enables timely access to mental health services when people need it most and provides support for people who might not traditionally meet the threshold or criteria of traditional mental health services. The team is multidisciplinary and is operated in partnership with Family Action (BAND), our third sector partner.

The team is currently undergoing a period of significant expansion, with the postholder being expected to be based at Horwich Public Hall.

The team operates 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, however the successful applicant will be regularly required to participate as Duty Worker for the team, which requires attendance at the new Referral and Assessment Hub in Bolton, based at the Royal Bolton Hospital. On these days, staff may be expected to work until 7pm when on duty and potential weekend working on a rota basis as part of this commitment.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have experience of triaging and signposting referrals as well as being able to liaise with multitude of agencies and professionals. Experience and knowledge of community services and third sector organisations in Bolton will be beneficial for this role.

The Neighbourhood Mental Health Team is compassionately-led, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused.  CPD opportunities are available and personal interests/skills are supported to develop and grow.
