The HR Business Partnering team is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated, and professional HR Officer to join our Cumbria and Lancashire team on a fixed-term basis, ending 31 August 2026.
This role is primarily based in Broughton, Preston, with the option for some remote working. However, regular travel across the Cumbria and Lancashire region will be required, including visits to other Trust locations such as the Fleet Workshops in Haydock and Bury, and the Trust Headquarters in Bolton.

As an HR Officer, you will deliver a comprehensive and proactive HR service to managers and staff. You will work closely with local management teams and HR Advisors, providing expert advice and guidance on a wide range of employee relations issues. Key responsibilities include supporting disciplinary investigations, managing grievances, and contributing to organisational change initiatives.
A central aspect of this role involves supporting effective absence management. This includes participating in sickness review meetings, offering guidance to managers, and analysing data to identify areas requiring additional support.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Ideally, candidates will hold a CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification or be willing to work towards it.
• Proven experience working in a busy HR environment, with a focus on generalist HR support and managing employee relations matters.
