A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a fully qualified, highly motivated, and significantly experienced and innovative finance leader to join GMMH. The role of Senior Finance Business Partner - Analytics, Productivity & Reporting, provides high-quality financial management advice and support to managers and clinicians across GMMH’s services and provides leadership and support within the wider finance team.
The person we are looking for;
- Fully Qualified CCAB or CIMA Accountant.
- Highly motivated and proactive
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience of working in financial management roles, ideally (but not necessarily) in the NHS.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing,
- Ability to make judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
- Ability to manage staff and motivate colleagues.
- Ability to automate and efficiently analyse complex data to drive analyses and reporting to support change, efficiency and improvement initiatives
Main duties of the job
The successful person will be responsible for leading identification of improvement opportunities in the teams’ systems and processes to enhance the speed and accuracy of reporting, financial analysis and planning and internal controls.
You will be professionally and personally ‘curious’, with a natural interest in discovering the truth behind datasets to ‘tell our story’. You will be interested to bring the benefits of digital approaches to improve the finance teams’ ways of working and offer to our service users, including those driven by Artificial Intelligence (from Automation to Generative AI and beyond).
You will deliver effective communication and have excellent interpersonal and people / management skills. You will have strong negotiating skills and be capable and confident to work under your own initiative with a range of staff within the finance team and wider Trust to develop timely and fit for purpose solutions.
The postholder will be a key member of the wider finance team and will provide expert finance advice and guidance to a range of colleagues, including other senior finance managers, Care Group and Divisional colleagues, other corporate stakeholders and those within the wider health and care system (e.g. other providers, commissioners).
The post holder will require a full professional accountancy qualification (CIMA / CCAB), as well as significant post-qualification experience of working in a senior finance manager role.

Essential criteria

Experience
Essential criteria
- • Significant demonstrable experience of financial management, including knowledge of key accounting practice, principles and standards. • Significant experience of developing, applying and utilising costing practice and methodologies to develop data to drive organisational change. • Experience of successfully working with and engaging with senior clinicians, operational managers and other stakeholders to understand data and develop action plans. • Experience of benchmarking, analysing results, data visualisation and presenting opportunities, using a range of complex data sources. • Experience of staff management and leadership, including delivering support, coaching and training, organising recruitment activities, and providing mechanisms for appraisal and dealing with any issues • Knowledge of human resource techniques, required to lead, develop and maximise the performance of staff. • Creative and innovative, with the desire and ability to propose changes to working practices and procedures.
Desirable criteria
- • A successful track record in a variety of NHS finance roles • Significant post-qualification experience at a senior level within the NHS • Operational management experience including project/change management • Track record of stakeholder engagement

- • Data management and automation skills using Excel / AI / similar approaches to understand and interpret complex financial information. • Strong numeracy and analytical skills • A high standard of general computer literacy. • Proven ability to operate/think laterally and see the wider corporate view, and make decisions which are in the best interests of the organisation. • Ability to lead team building, coaching and motivating staff both finance and non-finance with regards to their financial responsibilities. • Ability to take the lead on key developments, acting as a specialist in a particular financial area. • Ability to take responsibility for own workload and balance different aspects of the role, overseeing that of others, forward planning, working flexibly and prioritising competing demands. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to develop presentations and reports, chair meetings and deal with issues covering a wide range of parties.

- • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access / Excel / Power Bi
