Are you looking for change in your nursing career? could an opportunity to work within our Out of Hours Team be your ideal job? The team in Bury are looking to recruit practitioners with a wealth of clinical skills and knowledge in order to care for the acutely ill patient, be flexible and innovative to join their very supportive and extremely knowledgeable team. Support begins at the point of recruitment and throughout your role to gain competence and confidence as an autonomous clinician, providing opportunities through training to support development through your career pathway.

The Out of Hours Team provides a priority response/unscheduled care service to the registered population of Bury, almost mirroring the assessment unit of the acute hospital. You will visit patients in their own homes including residential homes; you will be providing point of care assessment in palliative care, end of life care/support, catheter care and any unscheduled nursing need.

The post holder should have good organisational and assessment skills with the ability to prioritise workload responding to patient priority and need, be flexible to cover the needs of the service between 5pm and 8am. Shifts will cover weekends and bank holidays.

To work without direct supervision but with support from the District Nurse team leader in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care within the community.  To manage day to day patient care in the absence of the team leader

The post holder will participate in the delivery of nursing care and support to clients within the community setting and have the necessary confidence and competence to work autonomously.

To work under the direction of the Community Nurse Team leader and to be responsible for assessment and management of the health needs of an identified population including end of life care and patients with long term conditions and/or complex nursing needs.

To support and wherever possible maintain patients in their own preferred place of care, promoting self-care enabling them to maximise their independence and optimise their quality of life 7 days per week throughout the year

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
