Job overview

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and compassionate person to work within our team as a dietetic assistant. Experience of working as a dietetic assistant is not essential, however previous experience of working within a caring environment is desirable. The successful applicant will work within our team of supportive dietitians alongside another dietetic assistant supporting the dietetic service to inatients. Full training will be provided.

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.

Main duties of the job

You will provide input across all inpatient wards including general medical, stroke, surgical, orthopaedic and gastroenterology, working under the supervision of the dietitian, but after appropriate training with your own caseload of patients. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential as you will liaise with a number of different members of the ward team including catering and nursing staff to ensure your patients receive the most appropriate nutritional care.
