Main duties of the job

Are You a Registered Nurse and Health Visitor Ready to Make a Difference?

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Health Visitors to join our team, playing a vital role in delivering exceptional care to infants, children, and families in our community.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Taking ownership of the operational and strategic management of your caseload, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care through a multidisciplinary approach
  • Working closely with other agencies to identify and safeguard vulnerable children and families, making a real difference in their lives
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of community services, helping us provide the best support possible
  • Managing the development, implementation, and compliance of policies, procedures, audits, and benchmarks to maintain high standards of care
  • Leading on staff appraisal, personal development plans, and clinical supervision to promote continuous learning and professional growth

  • Registered Nurse and qualified Health Visitor with a passion for delivering child and family-centred care
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage caseloads strategically and operationally

Registration & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • SCPHN Health Visitor

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Midwife or Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register
  • Registered Health Visitor/ SCPHN
  • Nursing degree or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Nurse Prescribing

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of recent legislation impacting on Community Health Care and Health Visiting practice
  • Displays a good clinical knowledge which is based on research evidence
  • Demonstrate ability to work within multi-agency/professional setting
  • Effective communicator. Articulate verbally and written

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Must be able to work alone and as part of a team
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate an understanding of current community developments

Work related circumstances

  • Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
