Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time experienced Senior Therapy Assistant with expertise in Intermediate Care, Rehabilitation, Rapid Response, and Admission Avoidance. We are seeking a well-organised individual who is passionate about promoting independence and providing therapy interventions across our Intermediate Care Units and within a person's own home, utilising a home-first approach.

We are thrilled to be able to welcome you to our friendly team, where you will have the flexibility to work across various services, including:

  • Killelea House (Enhanced and Residential IMC)
  • Home-based Intermediate Care and Reablement
  • Elmhurst Short Stay Intermediate Care Service
  • Bury Rapid Community Response Service

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, Social Workers, Care Support Workers, and Administrators. Our service operates 7 days a week, covering the hours of 8 am to 8 pm, including weekends. Therefore, the ability to work shifts within these hours is essential.

We are interested in hearing from an experienced Therapy Assistant with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and a proven track record of working with a multi-disciplinary team for this role.

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.

Main duties of the job

The Intermediate Tier prides itself on providing strengths-based assessments and interventions to the people of Bury, helping them regain or attain as much independence as possible within their own homes. Our patients are truly at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for someone committed to being part of a healthcare team that delivers excellent care and support.

As a Senior Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients.
  • Managing your own caseload and performing patient therapy assessments.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised holistic treatment programs.
  • Delivering a high standard of evidence-based care.

Within all our Intermediate Tier services, you will work within and have support from a large multidisciplinary team. You will follow appropriate pathways of care and liaise with and refer to other agencies as needed.

We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual with strong clinical, communication, organisational, and time management skills. A flexible approach to day-to-day tasks is essential to meet the demands of the service. You will also need to travel across the service footprint, so access to transport is essential.
