Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Stroke team at Fairfield General Hospital.
This post will provide you with excellent opportunities to develop a wide range of clinical and professional skills in a friendly and supportive environment at an outstanding Primary Stroke Centre.
Main duties of the job
You will carry out specialist neurological assessments and devise individualised treatment programmes for stroke patients. You will work in either the acute or rehab stroke wards. You will work with the MDT to achieve SMART rehabilitation goals and facilitate discharges home, working with our community stroke colleagues.
You will be supervised and supported by highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Physiotherapists and work collaboratively with the MDT. The Physiotherapist Service strives for continuous service improvement and professional development is supported. We place great importance upon training and supporting all members of our team. Candidates should have experience in a range of clinical areas including stroke/neurology, and a good working knowledge of the RCP and NICE Stroke guidelines.

Qualifications/Professional Registration
Essential criteria
- Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of relevant post graduate training/courses in specific clinical areas appropriate to post.
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Appropriate level of post registration experience.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in a Senior role.
Skills and abilities
Essential criteria
- • Advanced clinical reasoning skills (in specific clinical area.)
- • Specialist knowledge in anatomy and physiology to support relevant clinical skills.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
