An exciting opportunity has arisen to support clients under the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service.

We are looking to recruit a registered Nurse Associate to work to undertaking Physical Health Care assessments, monitoring and support to engage in appropriate interventions and lifestyle choices.  

You will be based in the CMHT Treatment Team which is a fast paced, dynamic, supportive , well performing team within the Bury  directorate.

The successful applicant will have some experience of working with service users with  a range of needs, mental health and substance use difficulties.

The post holder will be able to hold  clinics and work as part of a busy multi-disciplinary team supporting service users to address their physical and mental health needs.

Health Promotion & physical health /lifestyle interventions

Physical Health screening tool and physical health checks

support to access timely referral to substance misuse /lifestyle services

Clozapine, & Depot clinics

Undertake Venipuncture as directed by the Nurse Practitioner as required.

Undertake ECG as directed by the Nurse Practitioner/Medic as required.

Supporting annual flu vaccination clinics

Administration of depot medication

Clozapine service users

  • GCSE's Grade C/Grade 4-9 or above in Math's and English Language or equivalent

Experience

Knowledge

  • Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
  • Understanding of mental health issues and how these impact on individuals.
  • Knowledge of physical health observations and their importance.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non-verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers, as required
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload
  • Ability to act calmly in emergencies and to respond in a professional manner to stressful and challenging behaviour
  • Ability to plan and implement care for individuals, as appropriate
  • Good IT Skills
