Job overview

The Trafford Elective Surgical Hub (TESH) is seeking a motivated and organised Office Assistant (Band 2) to support the efficient delivery of the Pre‑Operative Assessment (POA) service. This is a key administrative role ensuring that patients are booked promptly and accurately into their pre‑operative appointments, enabling safe and smooth progression along the surgical pathway.

The post‑holder will provide day‑to‑day administrative and clerical support within a busy office environment, including managing patient information, maintaining electronic records, handling telephone enquiries, and supporting clinic flow. A strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work professionally with patients and the wider multi‑disciplinary team are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a patient‑focused administrative setting and is committed to supporting high‑quality elective care. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team, contributing to the Trust’s commitment to delivering timely, safe and effective elective services.

Main duties of the job

Arrange and amend pre‑operative assessment appointments, ensuring accurate and timely booking.
Maintain and update patient records, including data entry, scanning and filing.
Handle telephone enquiries professionally and support the cancellation line.
Provide high‑quality customer service, escalating queries when needed.
Support daily office and clinic operations, following Trust policies and confidentiality requirements.
