We’re advertising an exciting opportunity for a fixed term B7 Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team Lead, to cover maternity leave. The Speech Therapy Team is going through a period of transformation and you have the chance to take a key role in leading this change, supported by senior management. Main duties of the job

Provide clear professional leadership, governance and operational management to the team. Demonstrate compassionate leadership and empathy to support the teams and the families of the children we work with. Utilise well-developed time management and prioritisation skills. Apply creativity and problem-solving to manage a range of issues. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Provide management supervision to senior members of the teams. Maintain high standards within the teams to enable the provision of safe and effective care. Demonstrate excellent relationship-building skills with colleagues.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Recognised qualification as a Speech Therapist
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate training
  • Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical supervisor training
  • Interview/recruitment training
  • Research and development awareness and/or experience
  • Audit experience

  • Significant post-registration experience in a community setting
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other disciplines/agencies and across organsiational boundaries
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding
  • Excellent leadership skills
