Job overview

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a committed, highly motivated, knowledgeable and reliable 
registered mental health nurses (RMNs) who has an interest to join the GMMH clinical skills training 
team. The post will be based at Prestwich site within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS 
Foundation trust, but there will be some occasional requirement to work across all other sites.
To work with the Clinical Skills Training team, Nursing and Quality Team & the Learning and 
Development Team to co-ordinate and deliver clinical induction programme and mental health clinical 
skills training across Greater Manchester NHS Foundation Trust footprints to support the Trust’s
training requirements.
The successful applicant will work with the Clinical Skills Training team, Professions and Quality 
Team, and the Learning and Development Team, to ensure the Trust carries out its duties with respect to 
identifying and delivering the clinical skills training needs of its workforce to assure the workforce 
delivers safe and effective care and meets their own training requirements for their scope of practice.
The purpose of the Clinical Skills Training Team is to promote effective and safe practice, through 
training, that enables staff to feel confident in delivering the care that is evidenced based and meets 
national and local guidelines and standards.

Main duties of the job

 To support and assist the Clinical skills training Lead in the planning and
organising of clinical skills training for GMMH clinical workforce.
 To work with clinical skills training lead, to co-ordinate, organise, and 
deliver the multiprofessional clinical induction programmes to all 
registered new starters joining the trust.
 Liaise with the Recruitment team regarding new starters who are 
registrants and organise the induction programme in line with their 
progress through the recruitment checks.
 To support and assist the manager to devise both classroom-based
training, virtual and e-learning.
 To develop co-produced interactive and engaging training packages and 
lesson plans based on evidenced based research that are aligned with 
trust polices and procedures. 
 To have the skills and knowledge to be able to deliver identified clinical 
skills training to the clinical workforce.
 To deliver identified clinical skills trainings to a consistent, safe and fair 
standard in accordance with Trust policy, requirements and standards.
 To assess learners to determine their competency to a consistent, safe 
and fair standard in accordance with Trust policy, requirements and 
standards.
