Deputy Service Manager Gynaecology Oncology & Colposcopy

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Gynae Oncology & Colposcopy team as Deputy Service Manager. If you are looking for a new challenge this is a fast-paced role with the opportunity for service development working closely with our clinical and administrative teams. We are also open to candidates looking for a developmental role with a keen interest in Cancer targets and would consider a Band 6 starting as an Assistant Support Manager with a 12 month development plan. We would support any candidate who wishes to progress their career in a supportive environment with training opportunities to prepare for the Deputy Service Manager role. Following an agreed plan the successful candidate will have been provided with the tools and knowledge to progress to the Band 7 Deputy Service Manager position.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day operational management. This includes supporting the Service Manager, Clinical Director and Head of Nursing in the delivery of all performance targets, including waiting time targets, contracted activity levels, finance, standards and quality of services.
The post holder will support the Divisional service development and review programme and ensure that we provide the very best services to patients, utilising resources as effectively as possible.
The post holder will deputise for the Service Manager as required.

If you're a proactive, driven and detail oriented with a passion for service improvement and patient care, then this role is for you. Leading the day-to-day management of the Directorate you’ll work with the Service Manager, Clinical Director in managing finance, HR and quality and safety issues in the Directorate. Reporting to the Service Manager, you are expected to identify and troubleshoot problems with the delivery of the service, whilst keeping disruption to a minimum.
We are looking for individuals with an impressive track record of success who can think on their feet, make fast decisions in order to prevent disruption to a service. An excellent decision maker and communicator, you’re happy to explain your rationale to a wide range of individuals including clinicians and senior managers.
In return, the team will help develop your career and provide you with opportunities to grow and be mentored by senior leaders within the NHS.
