Job overview
Community Diagnostic Centres provide a broad range of elective diagnostics (such as checks, scans and tests) away from major hospital sites such as the Manchester Royal Infirmary. The Manchester and Trafford Community Diagnostic Centre will be open from 8am to 8.30pm, Monday to Sunday and the Care Navigator team cover a seven-day shift pattern in order to provide an effective and efficient service to the Centre
Main duties of the job
You will provide an efficient and high-quality Care Navigator booking and scheduling patient service in order to meet the requirements of the Community Diagnostic Centre and the Trust in achieving its key access targets.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Recognised educational standard in Maths or English, and/or relevant knowledge, skills and experience
Desirable criteria
- Microsoft Office qualification
Experience

- Prior experience of effective and collaborative team working
- Previous directly relevant work administrative work experience (e.g. in a booking contact centre or a busy clinical/medical customer care environment)

Skills/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- A high standard of computer literacy and experience of using Microsoft Office packages proficiently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to deal with a wide range of NHS staff/patients on the telephone and face to face using tact, empathy, and negotiating skills
- Demonstrable ability to provide an efficient and timely service, working to short timescales as required
- Able to work under minimal supervision and prioritise own workload, using initiative in planning daily tasks
- Able to understand and maintain high standards of staff and patient confidentiality at all times
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
