Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Inherited Cardiac Conditions

This is an exciting opportunity for doctors at Specialty Registrar level in adult cardiology level to undertake 12 months of training in a high volume inherited cardiac conditions unit. The training can include sessions in cardiac imaging tailored to the needs of the successful applicant, and could include sessions in CMR, CT and complex ECHO. The applicant will participate in the weekly Obstetric Cardiology clinic, gaining experience in the management of pregnant women with inherited cardiac conditions.

Applications are welcomed from specialist registrars training in adult cardiology for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in inherited cardiac conditions and obstetric cardiology.

The postholder will be expected to participate ICC outpatient clinics (2-3 per week) and would be expected to coordinate and present cases at the ICC MDT (once monthly). There would be active involvement in running and further developing outpatient services (eg supporting nurse led genetics clinics, or physiologist led follow up clinics). As the service is expanding rapidly, there are opportunities for the post-holder to play an active role in service development.

The training can include sessions in cardiac imaging tailored to the needs of the successful applicant, and could include sessions in CMR, CT and complex ECHO. The applicant will participate in the weekly Obstetric Cardiology clinic, gaining experience in the management of pregnant women with inherited cardiac conditions.

The postholder will participate in the middle grade (Cardiology Registrar) on-call rota (currently 1:12), which carries an out of hours supplement added to the basic salary. Routine clinical activity is suspended when on-call.
