Job overview

We are looking for confident, adaptable and self-motivated HCPC registered Podiatrists, with excellent clinical skills, to join our team in the Trafford community.

The Podiatry Service in Trafford has an excellent reputation for innovation and excellence and provides a caring, and supportive  working environment for our staff. The Podiatry team work towards improving health, reducing inequality and providing the best services for a diverse population.
The department provides specialist clinics in High Risk, Wound management, podopaediatrics, nail surgery and biomechanics.

Trafford expect their Podiatrists to take a proactive approach to managing a diverse caseload of patients within our Podiatry Service, using a combination of physical skills and empowerment techniques to provide an effective partnership working with patients.

The successful candidate will require positive attitudes towards personal and professional development and must demonstrate how their experience and skills meet the criteria for this post as listed in the person specification in order for their application to be short listed.

Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00. 

Main duties of the job

To plan, deliver, evaluate and modify specialist programmes of care for patients with complex medical conditions /social needs, providing advice to patients and carers in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team and other agencies involved.

To carry out the initial triage and assessment of patients referred to determine their acceptance into the service.

To be responsible for providing subsequent specialist assessments to assist in the determination of the medical/clinical diagnosis and formulation of treatment plans, utilising goals agreed with the patient.

To be actively involved in audit to ensure that treatment is evidenced based and to enable informed judgements regarding patient’s care and service development to be made.

To support the development of a culture of accountability and governance at all levels.
