Band 6

Job overview

This is a great opportunity for a District Nurse who holds  Community Specialist Practitioner Qualification (CSP) to work in a friendly and dynamic District Nursing Team in the North Locality.

Main duties of the job

As a Community Specialist Practitioner (CSP) and Registered General Nurse (RGN) you will be required to work as part of our Integrated Neighbourhood Team to lead and co-ordinate nursing teams to provide nursing care to adults in their own home and in a variety of settings within the community.

You will enjoy the chance to develop new and existing clinical skills, as well as a range of training opportunities for personal development. We will be looking for proven leadership skills and the ability to work within and lead and develop staff, as well as work autonomously.

You will hold the relevant CSP Qualification and have the required community nursing experience as set out in the job description. You will be an excellent communicator and be willing to work in an integrated way with our partners in health and social care. With patient centred care as your main focus, you will deliver our values, and nurse with pride, respect, empathy, consideration, compassion and dignity.

The  Community Nursing Service is a 7 day service with variable shift patterns available between 8am-6pm.  Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you possess a full driving licence and have access to a car.

Working for our organisation

MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of £2.8bn & is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We’re creating an exceptional integrated health & social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.

We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you’ll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.

We’ve also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient & staff experience, operational effectiveness & driving research, and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.

We’re proud to be a major academic Research Centre & Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What’s more, we’re excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.

At MFT, we create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, provide equal opportunities for career development that are fair, open, and transparent, protecting your health and wellbeing and shaping the future of our organisation together.
