An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Macmillan Cancer information and Support Centre team at North Manchester General Hospital, working as a Macmillan Counsellor and Psychological Support Co-ordinator.

Person specification
Essential and desirable
Essential criteria
- Recognised professional qualification, diploma or working towards a masters
- Member of a recognised professional body e.g. BACP Accreditation or UKCP and be accredited or working towards Accredited Practitioner of that body
- Experience providing therapy within the healthcare and/or charitable sector
- Experience of working in an acute health setting/with physical health
- Ability to create and maintain a suitably safe and therapeutic environment to ensure clients emotional and physical wellbeing
- An aptitude for recruiting and managing a team of volunteers
Desirable criteria
- Counselling supervision qualification or working towards
- Experience of managing a team of volunteers or managing a clinical team
- Broad understanding of the impact of cancer on emotional health

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
