A consultant in Intensive Care Medicine will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic department that leads in quality clinical care. Candidates with complementary specialty training will have the opportunity to accommodate a complementary specialty in job plan.

Desirable experiences would include experience in different hospitals / departments where opportunities to develop leadership and management experience have been fully utilised. Evidence of team working is essential.

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a high quality candidate to join the critical care team as a Locum Consultant in  Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Care. 

The successful candidate will primarily work in the intensive care medicine with two PAs DCC delivered in Emergency Care.  

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) was formed on 1st October 2017 following the merger of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM).

The Trust comprises of Manchester Royal Infirmary, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, University Dental Hospital of Manchester, St Mary’s Hospital for Women, The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital, Altrincham Hospital and Withington Community Hospital.

MFT is in partnership with the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC) which provides patients and clinicians with rapid access to the latest discoveries, and improving the quality and effectiveness of patient care.

  • Fellowship or membership of the Royal College of Anaesthetists/ Physicians/Emergency Medicine or equivalent.
  • Fully registered medical practitioner with licence to practice on the GMC Specialist Register

  • Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine or Equivalent

Training

  • Eligible to be included on the GMC Specialist Register with a CCT or equivalent Certificate of Eligibility for CESR in ICM or within 6 months

  • MRCP/FRCEM/EDIC Extended complementary skills (e.g. Echo, USS accreditation)
