Are you a dynamic and passionate midwife who wants to expand their knowledge and experience in a specialist midwifery role . This is an exciting opportunity to join the specialist midwifery team for Drugs , Alcohol and Perinatal Mental Health at the Saint Marys North Manchester
Specialist midwives are crucial to supporting women with mental health , drug and alcohol issues. They ensure that the correct services and support are put in place which will then go on to have huge benefits for families , babies and children .
Main duties of the job
The team works closely with the mental health teams across Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust and facilitates perinatal mental health clinics alongside the perinatal mental health psychiatrists and mental health care coordinators.
Coordination and liaison is a vital component of the team’s role as the team work alongside numerous agencies across the Greater Manchester footprint including the drugs and alcohol services , IAPT , community mental health teams , infant and parenting services , health visiting teams and cross boundary midwifery services
Safeguarding is a significant part of the teams role as they write reports for and attend professionals meeting , strategy meetings , initial child protection conferences , core groups, child in need meeting and discharge planning meeting .
The team are visible and accessible and are a resource for all staff providing evidence based advice ,support and information
