Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen on E1 mixed surgery to join our team in the position of a  Ward Clerk.  The post holder will provide a comprehensive administration service and ensuring our patients and their relatives experience a coordinated and streamlined patient journey.

This is a busy role and we are therefore looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure and the desire and enthusiasm to assist us in providing a first class service.

The working pattern for this post will be Monday - Friday 

As a valued employee of the Trust, you will be provided with a comprehensive induction, participate in discussing your development needs through your annual appraisal and will agree a personal development plan.  You will also be given the opportunity to attend training courses to expand your existing skills.

Main duties of the job

Maintain records regarding admissions / discharges / ward attenders / appointments, on PAS system and admission books as appropriate.

Ensure all appropriate documentation is complete and filed correctly. 

Ensure that all notes and films are tracked to the relevant department. Arranging for urgent collection and delivery as required.

Dealing courteously and effectively with all telephone enquires. Taking appropriate action as required.
