NMGH New Hospital Equipment Project Manager
NHS AfC: Band 8a
Job overview
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust has ambitious plans to transform healthcare in North Manchester through the North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) Redevelopment Programme which will deliver a new hospital and health campus at the existing North Manchester General Hospital site.
This major investment will support the transformation of how we deliver our services and create modern facilities that support world-class clinical care for our communities. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of one of the largest public sector health transformation programmes being delivered across Manchester.
The NMGH New Hospital Equipment Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the planning, co-ordination and scoping of the procurement, installation and/or transfer of medical and non-medical equipment.
Main duties of the job
The NMGH New Hospital Equipment Project Manager will support the preparation, implementation and management of equipment planning, costing and procurement strategies to support the delivery and operationalisation of the new hospital facilities. The role will provide support to the existing North Manchester General Hospital Clinical Group (and wider MFT) to ensure there is a robust understanding of current equipment, its condition, and the scope for ongoing investment is clearly defined to support the New Hospital Project plans. The role will support the development of alternative financing solutions for the procurement and maintenance of equipment.
The role is expected to work effectively at an operational level and to maintain effective relationships with senior management and specifically with the Project Director, Senior Project Managers, TOM Delivery Group Leads, Digital Workstream Lead and with clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust as well as other technical and commercial resources. It is expected that the post holder may have direct management responsibility for external specialist consultant advisers and/or other staff as may be commensurate with the grade.
