Occupational Therapist

Band 6

Job overview

We are looking for an occupational therapist who would like to develop their clinical and leadership skills by joining our rotation here at North Manchester General Hospital. This post is covering a maternity leave so we can offer either a 6 month secondment or a temporary contract, and discuss flexible working if you prefer.

The speciality areas on the rotation include medicine, surgery, AMU, frailty, trauma orthopaedics so you experience a broad range of acute specialities as well an opportunity to experience some outpatient work in rheumatology.  Previous acute experience is an advantage but community and intermediate care experience would also be relevant and beneficial in the role as we work within the discharge to assess model, and we are able to help you to develop your assessment and intervention skills in this fast paced and exciting environment.

We offer a thorough induction and competencies, with a wide range of support and development opportunities available, including regular supervision and inservice training. We would encourage applications from existing band 6 OTs looking for a new challenge, or a band 5 looking to take a step up. You will be given opportunities in service development.

Applicants should be prepared to participate in a  7 day working service.

Main duties of the job

You should be enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic and a team player. You will carry a caseload of complex and varied patients within each speciality, as well as supervising more junior staff and participating in student training and delegating for your team lead when needed.

This is the ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their clinical and leadership skills.  We are committed to your professional development in our supportive and friendly team.

We would welcome contact on the details below if anyone would like to discuss the role.
