It is also the sole UK site providing stem cell gene therapy for MLD, receiving national and international referrals to the service. RMCH is also part of the specialist commissioned IWMD service.
Experience will also be gained through roles and responsibilities particularly in neurometabolic clinics and MDTs as well as inpatient assessment of children admitted for regular enzyme replacement therapy.
At the end of the 12-month post, the Senior Clinical Fellow will have gained considerable experience and expertise in the clinical management of patients with complex neurometabolic disorders.
Main duties of the job
The focus of the Clinical Fellow post will be to develop experience and contribute to out-patient and in-patient the management and care of patients with neurometabolic disorders.
The Clinical Fellow will contribute to the care of inpatients within the paediatric neurology department, when needed, and will work within a team of junior doctors as listed above, providing support and advice to the doctors depending on the experience of the Clinical Fellow.
