Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Medical Rota Team on a full time basis. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our friendly team to provide an efficient administrative and support service to a fantastic team.

The role involves being responsible for the management, day to day staffing, and coordination via health roster of the Medical rotas, based at MRI. Assisting in the design preparation and publication of rotas.

 

Main duties of the job

You must have good attention to detail together with the ability to prioritise your own work to meet deadlines and show leadership and accountability for all issues pertaining to rotas.

You will have good interpersonal skills liaising with Senior Management and Medical Staff. 

It is essential that the post holder be a competent user of Microsoft Office including Excel, you will be willing to adapt to change and learn new skills along with having a good knowledge of general administration and clerical procedures.

The post holder should possess excellent organisational and communication skills whilst having the ability to deliver high quality support for our service and customers.

The ability to remain calm under pressure, to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload effectively is essential for this role.

The post holder will support the division to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care by efficiently deploying staff.

The post is instrumental in supporting the creation, implementation and management of staffing rotas across North Manchester General Hospital. Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree level or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
Desirable criteria
  • ILM Level 3

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial NHS office experience
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role, delivering a high quality efficient service
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of creating/managing medical rotas
  • Previous experience of booking and scheduling appointments/meetings

Skills

Essential criteria
  • PC/Microsoft Office literate with particular ability in Excel or Word
  • Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to concentrate on complex tasks and deal with interruptions caused by conflicting targets, priorities and timescales.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of the structure of junior doctor training in England.
  • Understanding of On Calls & Banding supplements
  • Knowledge of employment contractual terms and conditions
  • Up to date understanding of current pressures of the NHS and staffing issues.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Electronic Staff Record system (ESR)
  • In depth Knowledge of Microsoft office in particular Word and Excel spreadsheets
