Healthcare Science Practitioner- Sleep Service

Job overview
Are you interested in a career in Sleep Medicine and passionate about patient care? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our expanding team in the sleep department at Trafford General Hospital, Manchester Foundation Trust, to support the review and follow up of our growing cohort of CPAP therapy patients.
The main focus of this role is to be responsible for the processes of on-going monitoring of CPAP and performing timely patient reviews..
Depending on experience you will be required to contribute to the delivery of home Sleep Studies, WatchPAT, actigraphy, Polysomnography (PSG) and MSLT.
Main duties of the job
Maintain accurate records of all procedures and interactions with patients in patient clinical notes and departmental database
Perform, analyse and provide reports of routine investigations within the sleep service, including respiratory sleep studies and CPAP compliance
Prepare equipment for patients undergoing polygraphy and complex Polysomnography sleep studies
Attend regular revision courses to ensure advancement of knowledge and to understand principles of testing and treatment procedures used within the service
Assist in the tutoring and demonstrating Sleep Medicine and Sleep Physiology to university students undertaking pre and post graduate degrees in Clinical Physiology for Modernising Scientific Careers pathway and other advanced Sleep Medicine training.

Essential criteria
- BSc Biological or Physiological sciences or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria
- Competent Polygraphy Setting up , downloading and scoring
- PTP (Sleep) Graduate
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience working in a Respiratory sleep service.
- CPAP issue, monitoring, trouble shooting.
- Polygraphy Issuing, downloading and scoring.
Desirable criteria
- Overnight monitoring of patients
- Willing to undertake further study
- Sleep, or respiratory testing
- Neurology, Psychology experience
- NHS Nursing
