Person specification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Obstetric Ultrasound as per FASP
  • Knowledge of current BMUS guidelines related to scope of practice
Desirable criteria
  • Up to date CPD
  • Previous work in NHS maternity servicesFASP standards. Previous work in a gen Med ultrasound department
  • Knowledge of LiRADS, EU-TIRADS and IOTA

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registration as a radiographer or midwife with the HCPC, NMC or equivalent
  • Minimum PG certificate in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound from a CASE (consortium for accreditation in sonographic education) UK University Course only
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of further postgraduate studies an advantage
  • Evidence of further relevant course attended
  • Evidence of completion of e-LFH as per PHE

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completion of recognized course (as per CASE) for relevant clinical area
  • Practicing trainee sonographer, or midwife sonographer
  • Experience in transvaginal scanning
  • Experience in independent reporting and working automatously
Desirable criteria
  • Postgraduate experience of working under pressure in an obstetric/gynaecologic al scanning environment in the NHS (FASP/PHE)
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Experience of working with trainees
