Job overview

To provide an efficient, comprehensive, high quality administrative service to the    Regional Cleft Unit multi-disciplinary team at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. To deputise for the Service Co-ordinator in their absence.

Main duties of the job

To work alongside members of the Cleft Lip and Palate MDT. Providing administration support ensuring children and young people access treatment/therapy and reviews in a timely way. Provide continuity of support during periods of leave of other members of the team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Typing or word processing to RSA II standard
Desirable criteria
  • Medical Secretary BSMS/AMSPAR
  • Medical PA experience

Experience/Skills

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience as an administrative assistant
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of Information Technology systems
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Ability to engage effectively in dialogue with individuals at all levels
  • Able to be flexible to meet the needs of the service
Desirable criteria
  • Medical PA experience
  • Experience of PAS/HIVE
  • NHS or similar healthcare setting experience
  • Experience of liaising with various disciplines
