We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 8a Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner (APNP) / Advanced Clinical Practitioner  (ACP) to work within the Children’s Community Nursing Team (CCNT) in Oldham.  This is a part time post of 25 hours (over 3 or 4 working days). Successful candidates must have demonstrable experience at Band 7 or 8a and must hold an MSc in Advanced Paediatric Nursing Practice (ambulatory care) or MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.  

The APNP / ACP service is an evolving nurse led service.  The successful candidate will be working predominately within a clinic environment  at the Integrated Care Centre with scope to offer home visits where identified. 

Community experience is desirable however consideration will be given to applicants without should suitable evidence be provided.

 The postholder will work as part of the CCNT, working closely with key stakeholder partners from community, acute secondary and tertiary settings, local authority and the voluntary sector.

Qualifications and Registration

Essential criteria
  • RN (Child) or equivalent
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC Pin (RN child or RSCN)
  • MSc APNP or MSc ACP
  • V300 Non Medical Prescribing
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Specialist Community Practitioner qualification or significant post registration experience in a community setting

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial post registration experience working with children
  • Evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner at an advanced level
  • Evidence for advanced clinical knowledge and relevant experience in managing care for children and young people with both acute and chronic illnesses
  • Experience of managing own caseload
  • Experience of communication and collaborative working across organisational boundaries
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with children young people in a community setting

  • Ability to demonstrate advanced clinical assessments, history taking and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to motivate self and others
  • Ability to deliver individualised evidence-based care and treatment plans
  • Ability to assess and manage risk appropriately
