Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Laundry Assistant to join our busy team to fully support the objectives of providing a cost effective and efficient, quality linen service to the Northern Care Alliance and its customers.

Shifts: Monday - Friday between the hours of 6am-2pm.

Main duties of the job

To ensure all required items are processed to the required quality standards and delivered “on-time” while maintaining the health, safety and well being of all staff.

Qualifications

Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in a laundry or similar occupation
  • GCSE or equivalent in English & Math’s
  • Full clean UK driving licence

Experience

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of ancillary or factory work
  • Laundry / Domestic / mechanical work experience

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Working Knowledge of Health & Safety

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to work as part of a large team also capable of working on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Must be of general good health, fit and able to lift
  • Able to work Bank Holidays and Weekend Rotas if required
  • Basic literacy & numeracy skills and a good level comprehension and be able to communicate at all levels
