Job overview

We are pleased to advertise for Band 2 Laundry Assistants to work at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

The posts are permanent and 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday, with shifts 6am - 2pm and 12noon - 8pm. You must be able to work Bank Holidays and Weekend Rotas if required.

Please state on application form as to which shift preferred.

 

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the job is to fully support the objectives of providing a cost effective and efficient, quality linen service to the Northern Care Alliance and its customers.

To ensure all required items are processed to the required quality standards and delivered “on-time” while maintaining the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff.

Person specification

Qualifications

Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in a laundry or similar occupation
  • GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Must have basic literacy & numeracy skills and a good level comprehension and be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Working Knowledge of Health & Safety
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of ancillary or factory work
  • Laundry / Domestic / Mechanical work experience

Skills

Essential criteria
  • To be able to work as part of a large team also capable of working on own initiative with minimum Supervision.
Desirable criteria
  • Hold a full clean UK driving license
