Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Rota Co-ordinator to join us.

You will work closely with Directorate Managers and Clinical Directors to support in safely staffing across Orthopaedics and Vascular services.

The post requires the holder to develop in-depth experience of managing the deployment of medical staff to support the correct functions within the designated speciality. 

The post holder will be responsible for the overall management and control of the rotas for the designated speciality, ensuring the required level of cover and productivity is achieved.  

The rota’s span 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  The post holder will be required to gain in-depth experience of clinical needs to ensure the rota’s are accurate at all times.

 

The post holder will also work closely with the Directorate Support Manager, supporting with RTT, Validation, Theatre and Clinic utilisation, in-patient and out-patient management and other as aspects to gain in-site and knowledge of a DSM role. 

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting medical job planning, rota design and workforce planning
  • Supporting improved productivity for the directorate
  • Administrative induction of clinical staff
  • Compiling and maintaining an up to date speciality induction pack
  • Coordinating the attendance of junior medical staff (recording of absence and documentation of return to work interviews)
  • Maintaining a compliant and efficient medical rotas for all levels of medical staff in the designated speciality
  • Rota management
  • Co-ordination of leave for all medical staff in the speciality
  • Co-ordination of junior doctor induction days
  • Co-ordinate and assist in the recruitment of junior medical staff
  • Support and working along side the DSM and management of the PTL

  • Previous experience within a rota co-ordinator post in the NHS or similar.
  • Experience of working in a pressured and unpredictable environment.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
  • Experience of communicating with a range of professionals with differing priorities experience and roles.
  • RTT experience
