An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person-centred, passionate, HR professional to join our HR Advisory Team on a 12 month fixed term basis. 

 

Main duties of the job

This role provides a fantastic opportunity to support our services to deliver a high standard of care to our service users. You will provide professional advice and support to managers on a wide range of employment matters including employee relations issues, organisational change, terms and conditions of employment, management of attendance, performance management, equality and diversity, employment legislation and policy, and good people management practice. You will be expected to efficiently manage a caseload of employee relations and sickness cases. You will build good working relationships with and service managers which enable you support the development of their skills and teams. 

Hybrid working is an option, with most team members spending 1-2 days per week working from home.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree standard, or equivalent experience
  • Hold/working towards Associate Membership of the CIPD (Assoc CIPD) or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant and relevant experience working in HR including acting in an advisory capacity
  • Working without direct supervision
  • Dealing with operational HR issues, advising managers and working with trade union representatives

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation and equal opportunities issues

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good communication and organisational skills – able to meet deadlines and organise complex activities
  • Have experience of dealing with situations which may require the application of tact and diplomacy and that demonstrate a customer focused, problems solving approach
  • IT literate
  • Able to work on own initiative, with conflicting priorities and under pressure
  • Ability to forge good working relationships with colleagues, in both senior and junior positions
