Join our Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT) in Bury on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Main duties of the job

Providing nursing care to children and young people across Bury with acute, chronic and complex health needs Using your clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of care for children and young people Working competently and providing supervision, teaching and assessment to other members of staff/professionals and students to support aspects of nursing care You will undertake nursing interventions consistent with evidence-based practice, transferring and applying knowledge and skills to meet patients’ needs Ensuring the accurate documentation of nursing notes within an EPR in accordance with the NMC standards and Trust policies/guidelines

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. Education/Qualifcations

Essential criteria
  • Degree / diploma in Children’s nursing studies or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
Desirable criteria
  • Non-Medical Prescribing V150/V300
  • Community Specialist Practitioner

Professional Regsitration

Essential criteria
  • Registered Children’s nurse with current NMC registration

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and experience of current children’s nursing based on research evidence
  • Knowledge of National and local strategies pertaining to children in community/hospital setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of child protection policies and safeguarding procedures for children and adults
  • Knowledge of Incident reporting and the importance of this
  • Communicates succinctly, clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to coordinate your workload, ensuring high quality, safe and effective patient care
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information to children, young people, families and carers
  • Able to communicate sensitive information to children, young people, families and carers
  • Competent IT Skills
  • Use of a car or and full UK drivers licence
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to carry out duties over 7 days between the hours of 8am-8pm
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with children and young people in the community
  • Experience in nursing children with chronic and complex needs
  • Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner
  • Evidence of involvement in teaching /supporting students
  • Ability to deliver health promotion, training and education to families and professionals.
  • Leadership skills
