  • To determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To undertake a significant clinical caseload and to support other practitioners on complex cases.
  • To be responsible for the day to day provision of wound care treatments for the most acutely high risk patients using highly developed specialist knowledge.
  • To use knowledge of biomechanical and pathomechanical conditions to arrange for the provision and production of off-loading devices where appropriate.
  • To undertake  research, audit and evaluation of clinical practice in relation to the management of high risk podiatry.
  • Persuade and influence a high risk and demanding client group in improving their overall health to promote wound healing.
  • To liaise with primary, secondary and community care teams to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to improvement of foot pathology.
