Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Mental Health Service as a Receptionist/Front of House.  These are new roles to Birch Hill to have a welcoming environment for visitors to the wards and to the recently opened communal cafe. The roles include the chance to work with volunteers who will provide additional support.

Main duties of the job

We currently have three position, 37.5 hours per week, on a rota basis covering 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday including bank holidays. Daily hours will be 7.5 hours a day excluding 30 minutes unpaid break.

You will be expected to provide a professional and courteous service as Front of House staff greeting visitors to the John Elliot Unit (JEU). Provide direction and information about the unit, and signpost to other services on the Birch Hill Hospital site. Attend to telephone calls in a timely manner, coordinating to the appropriate department. To be familiar with a range of clerical duties and undertake specific duties as required, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.

You should have excellent IT, communication and administration skills, be well organised with a meticulous approach to work and keen attention to detail. You will be proactive and able to manage your own working time effectively. You must have a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. High standards of professionalism and a desire to learn will be essential.
