As part of this, our community (physical health) services in Bury, Oldham, Rochdale (adult services) and Trafford will be moving to a new NHS provider in 2019. For Bury, Oldham, Rochdale (adult services), this will take place on the 1st July 2019
We have been very proud to run community (physical health) services over the last seven years, but we believe there are other provider organisations better positioned to enable these community services to achieve more for the benefit of local people. Post Title Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist Service/Ward/Department Memory Assessment Service HMR (Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale) Borough HMR (Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale) Band & salary scale 8a Permanent (Band 7 Perceptorship considered ) Hours of work 22.5 Post Due to internal promotion this opportunity of permanent post for a clinical psychologist has arisen. The post holder will work three days a week as part of a vibrant MDT Memory Service for Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR) based in Rochdale. Besides psychiatrists, nurses and a neuropsychologist you will be joining a team focusing on post diagnostic support. You will work closely with an OT, support workers that has good third sector partnership working with the Alzheimer’s Society. In addition to providing appropriate assessments and therapy with people with a diagnosis of dementia and their carers the post holder will run the post diagnostic information and support group and support a thriving service user carer group with MDT colleagues. The post holder will propose and implement evidence-based practice, utilising research skills for audit and service developments. There are excellent opportunities within the service to become involved with service developments. The post-holder will be part of existing wider secondary care old age psychological services across the trust where there is expertise and interest in trauma informed care and third wave CBT such as Compassion Focused Therapy and ACT. The services have close links with the Manchester, Lancaster and Liverpool doctorate training programmes. The post holder will be managerially accountable to the Older peoples service manager for the Memory assessment service . The post holder will be professionally accountable to the consultant clinical psychologists and clinical lead. The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision from a suitably experienced clinical psychologist Key Requirements of the Person Specification: You must have a post graduate doctoral qualification in clinical psychology and a commitment to work with service users with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. You must be eligible to work in this country.
