Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experiences and motivated clinician to join our Memory assessment service as Team Manager. You will lead a skilled and compassionate team providing high quality assessment and diagnosis. 

As the Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering clinically effective and person- centred care, supporting individuals and their families through timely assessment and diagnosis.  

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the day to day operational management, leadership and development of MATs which is an integrated, flexible, user-focussed and recovery-orientated team. To ensure the delivery of a safe, effective, and high quality service to service users with dementia through the relevant clinical pathways.

Participation as a member of the Community Services Management Team in the overall management of community based secondary mental health services. 

Participate in the service bronze on call rota as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 
To be responsible for the day to day operational management, leadership and development of MATs 
which is an integrated, flexible, user-focussed and recovery-orientated team. To ensure the delivery of 
a safe, effective, and high quality service to service users with dementia through the relevant clinical 
pathways (as outlined within the MATs operational procedure). 
 
Participation as a member of the Community Services Management Team in the overall management 
of community based secondary mental health services.  

Person specification

Qualification/ experience

Essential criteria
  • NMC registered - RMN
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience at band 6 or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with Older Adults with Dementia.
  • Demonstrable post qualification experience in a relevant mental health setting.
Desirable criteria
  • NMP qualification
  • • Experience of working as a manager or team leader, including management of disciplines other than own background.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of legislation, statutory and good practice guidance relating to mental health.
  • Knowledge of the Health and Social Care agenda in mental health services
  • Ability to provide leadership and management skills to an integrated multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and monitor own and others work load
  • Supervisory skills including staff appraisal and supervision
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with service users, carers, other agencies and professionals
  • Ability to involve service users and carers in service delivery, service evaluation and service development
  • Ability to ensure effective budget management
Desirable criteria
  • Extensive knowledge of dementia and its impact on service users
