The role is the Deputy Business Accountant for the Integrated Care Division. This is a unique opportunity to experience a finance role that spans both health and adult social care in a truly integrated organisation, working with colleagues within the NCA but also in Salford City Council and the newly formed NHS GM.
This is a pivotal role to contribute to helping the organisation to ensure it maintains its high quality of clinical services whilst identifying ways in which to safely reduce costs.
As Deputy Business Accountant you must be able to work independently and lead a small team with the support of the Business Accountant.

You will be a CCAB qualified or finalist with management experience (previous experience in the NHS is not required).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead the day-to-day activities of the team and have responsibility for their own portfolio of work providing key financial support to key areas with the division.
The post holder will support the organisation’s aims and objectives by ensuring a high-quality finance service is delivered to the division to allow for continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be flexible and responsive to change.
The post holder will oversee all elements of the financial month end processes ensuring all key deadlines are met by themselves and their team.
The role involves working closely with colleagues, both in finance, the organisation and with external partners. The role will support the finance department in the process of meeting its objectives. This includes the preparation of budgetary and reporting systems, and implementing procedures that enable effective financial management and efficient use of resources.
You will be proactive and highly motivated with strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office and a computerised ledger system.
You will also require a good understanding of the accounting function and should also be able to plan your workload in order to meet strict and conflicting deadlines.
You will on occasion be expected to deputise for the Business Accountant and attend meetings with senior colleagues to present key information.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- CCAB Qualified (Or Finalist)
- 5 GCSEs including English & Maths
- NVQ Level 4/ AAT Qualification Technician Level or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Degree level or equivalent
- ECDL
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in a financial environment
- Ability to provide and receive routine information, both written & oral, from budget holders and financial colleagues
- Able to investigate and discuss complex financial queries and explain accounting rules to budget holders
- Able to analyse detailed information to identify errors and offer options for resolution
- Able to make complex calculations for budgeting and costing purposes
- Able to use and create PC based spreadsheets and word processing documents
- Able to work within a team to achieve objectives
- Able to implement policy and procedures set by finance managers
- Able to maintain financial information sources for the team
- Detailed understanding of computerised financial systems, coding structures and the inter- relationships between financial modules
