We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated Nursing Associate to join our friendly, supportive and exciting family team on Ward L5 at Salford Royal Hospital, Part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team providing planned care and delivering the highest standards of patient care within Ward L5. The role is exciting and challenging, where compassion, teamwork, excellent communication skills, emotional resilience and initiative are paramount.  L5  is a 24 bedded Ageing and Complex Medical Ward, specialising in Parkinson's.

Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

You will need to have experience of working in an acute hospital environment or community setting as well as a Nursing Associate qualification at level 4.  Experience of working with patients with ageing and complex medical patient's would be an advantage.

Qualifications / Registration

Essential criteria
  • Foundation Degree
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register
  • GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Equivalent

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the Organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
Desirable criteria
  • IT Skills.
  • Interest or experience in ACM.
