Job overview

An excellent opportunity has become available for the role of Nurse Colposcopist with the The Northern Care Alliance. 

The Colposcopy Practitioner will maintain advance specialist skills to undertake full diagnostic and therapeutic Colposcopy, including examination and treatment.

The successful candidate will participate in regular multi-disciplinary meetings (MDT) for case discussion and protocol review, including cytology and histology services working closely with the hospital based programme co-ordinator.

Main duties of the job

BSCCP trained Nurse Colposcopist, responsible for examining, assessing and treating patients with abnormal smears/Vaginal and Vulval.

Maintain and develop the Colposcopy service within the parameters  of current and future guidance and protocols.

Act as a key contact for the patient experience collaborative and ensure that feedback is acted upon, with demonstrable improvements. 

Development of  the Colposcopy Service in line with the evidence based practice and with a view to improving the quality of care, part of MDT.

Provide a specialist led service, whilst managing their own caseload.

The post holder will ensure that written protocols and guidelines are in place and up to date for the service.
