Job overview

Cardiorespiratory Investigations are employing additional part time Assistant Technical Officer(s). 

The successful candidates will be working in the Community Diagnostic hubs and at Salford Royal Hospital and Community Hubs to  support Cardiology, Respiratory and Phlebotomy. Locations include Little Hulton, Swinton, West One, Irlam, Pendleton, Broughton and Salford Royal Hospital.

A  UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Experience in any diagnostic techniques to support these investigations will be beneficial.

Main duties of the job

Patients are transferred for diagnostic tests as in-patients, outpatients, from general practitioners and other hospitals.

Main duties will be:

  • Provides a high quality efficient and effective Cardiorespiratory investigations service to the local population.
  • Unsupervised recording of Electrocardiograms and routine pulmonary function tests
  • Application and Removal and safe handling of cardiac event recorders BP and sleep monitors

Desirable criteria
  • General education to A-level and 3 GCSE’s or equivalent

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of performing electrocardiograms
  • Experience of performing pulmonary function tests
  • Experience of setting up, applying and downloading 24 hr ambulatory BP recorders
  • Experience of setting up, applying and downloading 24/48 hr ambulatory ECG recorders
  • Previous experience of working in a cardiology and/or respiratory department

Skills & Abilities
