Job overview
This is an exciting time for a new cardiologist to help develop cardiology services, for our local population of about 750,000 people. The appointed individual will be expected to work closely with other consultants in the department of cardiology.
The service has a Clinical Director, Dr Kamal Khan, Matron Naheed Sabir and Operational Manager, Tania Woolley. There are regular directorate meetings to communicate directorate and corporate issues and also to provide support to medical staff. Regular job planning meetings are held to monitor workload.
Main duties of the job
This is a replacement post to further develop and expand the cardiac services provided at Salford Royal Hospital. A range of subspecialty interests will be considered; interest and skills in cardiac CT and / or cardiac MR would be desirable.
This post will compliment a team of 8 consultants. There is a supporting team of 2 FY1, 2 CMT and 2 other middle-grades. There are 5 specialist cardiology Advanced Practitioners and 3 Heart Failure Specialist nurses. We have an excellent record in placing Specialty Dr trainees in specialist ST cardiology training posts.
