Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Psychologist in
Neuropsychology/Clinical Neuropsychologist (8A) who has expertise in the inpatient settings. This is a 12 month fixed-term post to provide secondment leave cover.

The postholder will be experienced in providing comprehensive and specialist neuropsychology assessments of complex neurological conditions and will be skilled in providing interventions using multiple models. You will be experienced and familiar with working closely with the wider MDT on formulation of management plans. You will join one of the largest Neuropsychology teams in the country, in a culturally
diverse region. We are a group of highly committed and supportive clinicians who work across inpatient, outpatient and community settings supported by an excellent administrative and managerial team.

For this specific post, we are looking for an individual who has experience of working  with other disciplines to help diagnose and treat complex neurological conditions.


The post will be based at Salford Royal Hospital.

Main duties of the job

 Neuropsychology Lead for the Acute Neuroscience wards (predominantly the
Acute Neurology Unit).- providing specialist psychological assessment,
interventions, management and advice on the diverse cohort of inpatients at
the unit.
 Work with colleagues in the unit and department to provide and maintain a
high-quality and innovative neuropsychology service including clinical work
and clinically important research.
Be responsible for the provision and delivery of the neuropsychology service
that includes a range of neurological conditions managed on the unit
 Provide inclusive direct clinical services for patients including highly specialist
and detailed assessments, formulations and treatment where appropriate.
 Provide inclusive indirect clinical services for patients including liaison with the
multiple health and other professionals involved in the patient pathway and
liaison with outside agencies as appropriate.
 Develop highly specialist clinical neuropsychology input for these services in
collaboration with the wider clinical team and patient representatives.
 Provide teaching, training, research, and development within these
specialities,
 The job includes line management and clinical supervision responsibilities for
clinical neuropsychology team members
 Work in partnership with neuropsychology colleagues to provide integrated
and high-quality services across the department.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BPS accredited undergrad degree
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD)
  • Partial completion (50%) PGDip in Clin Neuro
Desirable criteria
  • Completion (100%) PGDip in Clin Neuro

Registration

Essential criteria
  • Registered with HCPC
  • BPS accredited undergrad degree

Experience

  • Experience of working in a rehabilitation setting
